How it works
Our Crime Scene Nights have been designed so any type of venue can participate; whereas murder mystery nights,
actors are used to play out the crime and there is lots of listening our nights actually involve your guests with
forensic testing* and witness statements. You simply turn your venue into a Crime Scene.
* The testing is done with harmless substances like orange juice, water and coca cola
How the night works
Your venue becomes the crime scene and it’s the team's job to find out what has
happened and why. You have teams of four, two forensic investigators and two
detectives. They go around looking at the evidence provided. Under no
circumstances is the evidence allowed to be removed from the crime scene. Both
the investigators and detectives will need to make as many notes as possible as
when they come to discuss their findings these can be referred to and help them
come up with their conclusion.
At the end of the evening there are 10 questions on the evidence. For example
what was Joe Bloggs doing at 12.10am? The answer has to be exact to get points.
Then there will be two more questions: Who did it? And what was the motive? We
recommend at the beginning of the night you get the teams to come up with a team
name. It's your decision as to whether you get the teams to swap answers (like
you would in a quiz) or mark the answer sheets yourself.
Prizes
We do not supply prizes for your venue and they do not have to be given out.
Venues have given prizes for winning teams as well as the team that comes last.
Setting out the scene
When you receive your equipment pack it will have useful items for you to play
with. Use these wisely as it helps to set the scene and makes your venue look
like there has actually been a murder.
All the stories are very different. We do not provide actors so it’s your job to
make the evening work. Don't let this put you off however, as this gives you
more leeway to make the night your own. We suggest you run the night how you
feel best suits your venue. If you are a smaller venue and only wish to do the
evening as a basic crime scene night then all you will need to do is follow the
instructions given to you when you receive your story.
Many venues have done this entertainment night with a two or three course meal;
some have used their local theatre group or even used their staff as witnesses.
The instructions, story and basic equipment is provided you then put your own
mark on it.
We encourage you to pick one that may fit in well with your venue (you can see a
story overview under case files), this also helps when thinking of props as you
can then use items you have around your venue. The more visually effective, the
better the night will be as it will help make your participants feel more like
forensic investigators or detectives.

Costs and charges
The stories start from £109.00 + VAT per night for one night's use, however the
brilliant thing about this product is that it is very profitable to the venue as
you can charge each player to come along for a whole night's entertainment. We
do recommend you cap your participants at 60 maximum per night unless you have a
much larger venue that could accommodate a number of crime scenes.
